KANSAS — Destiny Jones of (RV) University of Saint Mary has been named the KCAC/Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week, the KCAC conference office announced Monday. Jones was selected for her performances from Oct. 27-Nov. 2 by a vote of the conferences' Sports Information Directors. The KCAC and Sooner merged to one national qualifying group in women's wrestling in 2025-26, and have chosen to honor one Women's Wrestler of the Week between the two conferences.
The junior from Oklahoma had an outstanding opening weekend at the Falcon Open. Jones competed in the Elite Division and made it all look easy as she took home 1st place earning a win by fall against Oklahoma State's Corrigan, 14-9 win by decision over Central Methodist's Mzeru, and a win in a 14-second fall (quickest fall of the tournament) over Doane's Navarette.
Destiny and her fellow Spire wrestlers are preparing for their home opener on Thursday, November 6th against Graceland University with the women's squad beginning at 3:00 p.m. and the men shortly to follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Ryan Sports Center in Leavenworth, Kansas.
