Leavenworth, Kan.—All good things must come to an end as USM volleyball wrapped up their 2025 season after reaching the conference tournament in mid-November with a final record of 21-12 overall and 7-6 in KCAC play.
Head coach
Amy Beall, who has been at the helm for a decade, led her squad through a strong yet at times challenging season marked by fierce competition, growth, and unfortunately a few injuries. Notably, the Spires were without their top outside hitter in senior
Maddison Kruse due to a season ending leg injury in the summer. Despite this early setback, the Spires started strong in their 2025 campaign and clinched notable victories against teams such as Kansas Wesleyan University and Benedictine College.
USM saw ebbs and flows in their play as the year went on, earning a 5-match win streak that stretched from September 13
th to September 24
th and another that went from the first of October at Friends University and lasted them until October 15
th when they faced off against the #13 Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan who found themselves competing for the red banner come November. The Spires competed to the end and showed glimpses of the potential to truly enhance their level of play and ability to compete, making a vigorous push in the KCAC tournament, taking an aggressive and National Tournament bound Bethel team to five sets in the match that would eventually close the year for USM.
Coach Beall and her staff made up of assistant coach
Levi Pollreisz and graduate assistant
Rylee Sadler, are already eager at what the 2026 season could bring with a robust lineup of underclassmen and fresh talents. This season saw personal career milestones set by senior
Ava Bojanski, who set a new school record with 139 career aces, surpassing the previous record set in 2009 from Spire alum Stephanie Wright and senior
Chloe Byrd who surpassed 1,000 career kills.
The University of Saint Mary wishes all the best to the graduating seniors and is thrilled to cheer on the Spire volleyball team in 2026 and beyond.
