HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary Volleyball team stayed alive in the first night of the KCAC Tournament Friday evening. The Spires were forced to five sets but defeated Sterling 3-2 (25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-11) in the quarterfinals.
Saint Mary continues its record season as they are 25-14 overall.
GAME FLOW
Saint Mary came out hot where they took the first set easily with a 25-16 score, but would fall in the second set 25-19. The third and fourth set had the same flow as the Spires would grab a match lead with a 25-19 win. Sterling however, would force a fifth set winning the next set 25-19. Saint Mary took the last set by winning 15-11.

Saint Mary has a quick turnaround as they play again tomorrow at 11:00 am in Hutchison, Kansas where they look to upset No. 1 seed McPherson in the KCAC Tournament Semifinals.
