Hutchison, Kan. – The No.4 seed University of Saint Mary Volleyball team's run in the KCAC Tournament ended Saturday afternoon as the Spires fell to a tough No. 1 seeded and 17th-overall McPherson squad in the semifinal round. The Spires were swept 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-11) inside the Hutchinson Sports Complex.

Saint Mary ended the season with a record year as they went 25-15 overall.

Saint Mary's upset bid of the number one seed in the KCAC Tournament came up short Saturday as they were handled in three sets by McPherson. The Spires were within reach of the Bulldogs on several occasions during the match, but McPherson was too much as they built their leads in each set.
