Saint Mary women's basketball took a 69-40 loss at Friends on Saturday night. The loss drops the Spires to 5-7 in KCAC play.

Saint Mary was cold from the floor shooting just 24% in the loss. After Ashley Hinkle put the Spires up 1-0 with a free throw, Friends went on to take a 13-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Falcons would outscore the Spires in each quarter as they went on to the victory.

Candy De Los Reyes scored 10 points to lead the Spires. She also finished with seven rebounds. Janae Barnes led the Spires in rebounds with nine. Sienna Brown also had three blocks.

The Spires return home on Wednesday to take on Sterling at 6pm. The Warriors bested the Spires in Sterling earlier this season 87-82. The Warriors are 9-3 in KCAC play and 12-7 overall.
