Topeka, Kan.—The University of Saint Mary track and field are itching to get back to competing as they will kick off the weekend today at the Washburn Open at Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility in Topeka, Kansas.
On the women's side, the Spires will look to standout names such as
Deslyne Cooper,
Ava Klassen,
Mesa Casper,
Jordyn Miller-Knuckles,
Maya Newcomer,
Tamara Lopez and
Emily Struckman to anchor the Spire women.
The men's entries offer similar intrigue, with athletes such as
Kenneth Howell,
Juan Washington,
Robert Hennig,
Jeremy Shreve, Justin Johnson and
Logan Hammersmith expected to be central to the Spires' efforts in the two-day event. The USM men have the range to match up with a variety of race styles that the WU Open has to offer.
With more than 120 teams and 1,850 student-athletes competing, the Open represents true competitive stages for the Spires'. Saint Mary fans can follow the full slate of Spires competitors through
