USM Defeated in Oklahoma

Bartlesville, Okla.- On a mid-week trip down to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the University of Saint Mary Spires suffered a defeat against the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles with a 9-1 final score. This puts the current season's tally, moving the Spires to a record of 5-6-2 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play.

From the starting whistle, Oklahoma Wesleyan put up strong numbers, netting their first goal at the 15th minute through Luis Vergara. The Eagles controlled the game effectively, concluding the first half with a 3-0 lead.

The Spires' goal came from junior Alfie Scandle in the 61st minute yet Oklahoma Wesleyan's relentless attack proved too much. Assists in the game were notable from both teams, with contributions from Nemanja Vukovic, Juan Morenoh, Team, Biel Campo, and Adrian Mejia. The goalkeeping duo for Saint Mary, Ethan Uhlrig and Zachary Anderson, had challenging roles throughout the evening.

Looking ahead, the Spires are hitting the road yet again, preparing to face the York University Panthers on Saturday, October 18th in York, Nebraska.
