LEAVENWORTH, KAN- The University of Saint Mary Spires continued their strong season with a commanding performance against the Doane Tigers on Thursday night, improving their record to 10-7. The Spires showcased their dominance, securing a 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-16.
The Spires took control in the first set, quickly establishing an early lead. The team's defense was solid, and their offense was relentless, allowing them to dominate with a final score of 25-14. Key contributions came from Courtney Standley and Madison Folsom, each contributing 8 kills and energizing the home crowd.
The momentum carried into the second set, where the Spires continued to dominate. Strong serving and precise attacks led to a 25-17 win, with Ivory Howat facilitating the offense with 10 assists.
With a two-set advantage, the Spires closed out the third set winning 25-16.
