Wichita, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Tennis team traveled to take on the Friends Falcons on Thursday, resulting in a 7-0 loss. The Spires are now 1-9 overall and 1-2 in conference in team duals.
Doubles
The group of Kevin Eutsey and Evan Maritz won the doubles match 6-1 and opened the door for the Spires to steal the lone doubles point. However, the two other groups were not able to beat their opponents, losing the doubles point to the Falcons.
Singles
Saint Mary nearly had better fortunes in the singles matches, with Eutsey, Maritz, and Will Ogrizovich sending their matches into a third tie-breaking set. After falling 6-4, Eutsey was able to win his second set 6-0 over his opponent, but in the third set, he fell 6-1. Maritz had a similar singles match, dropping his first set 6-4 but bouncing back and winning his second set 7-6 but dropping the final set 10-8. Saint Mary was not able to recover after these tie-breaking losses and fell 7-0.
