Hillsboro, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Tennis team traveled to play Tabor College in a team dual on Saturday, resulting in a 4-3 win. They are now 2-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Doubles
The Spires were swept three matches to none to start the day, dropping all three doubles matches. The pair of Kevin Eutsey and Evan Maritz came the closest to taking a set from the Bluejays but fell short 6-4.
Singles
However, Eutsey and Maritz were able to bounce back in the singles matches and beat their opponent in two sets. Jackson Contrucci nearly won his match, sending it to a tiebreaker set after winning 6-2 in the second set, but fell 10-8. Saint Mary secured the team win over Tabor with wins from Leyton Ross and Demitri Serrano to give the Spires a 4-3 win over the Bluejays.
