LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary women's basketball team increase their record to 2-0 with an emphatic 85-59 victory over York. The Spires, now 2-0 in the KCAC and 3-4 overall, took control early, building a 45-29 lead by halftime and never relinquishing control.
The Spires showcased a balanced offensive attack and stingy defense, forcing 19 York turnovers and converting them into 17 points. Saint Mary also out-rebounded York 37-28, creating second-chance opportunities that contributed to their decisive win.
