LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary volleyball team faced a challenging conference road test against Oklahoma Wesleyan, falling in straight sets (23-25, 15-25, 9-25). Despite a resilient start, the Spires couldn't maintain momentum against a strong offensive display from the Eagles, who improved their efficiency as the match progressed.
Saint Mary started with a competitive first set, led by consistent efforts from Renata Dominguez (7 kills, .294 hitting percentage) and Devyn Ford (7 kills). However, the Spires were narrowly edged out 25-23, setting the tone for the remainder of the match. Oklahoma Wesleyan responded with dominant hitting in the next two sets, capitalizing on Saint Mary's errors to take control and seal the sweep.
Setter Ivory Howat recorded 16 assists for the Spires, while libero Macey Adams contributed a team-high 9 digs. However, Oklahoma Wesleyan's offense was hard to contain, with Evelyn Rohrberg leading the way for the Eagles with 16 kills and a .536 hitting percentage.
