Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Basketball team hosted the Southwestern Mound Builders Tuesday night, resulting in a 90-74. The Spires are now 4-5 overall and 0-3 in the KCAC.

Saint Mary found themselves down nine points to start the first half by a score of 14-5. The Spires quickly pulled within four after a jump shot from Luke Mackey and a three-pointer from Quentin Williams. Southwestern continued to press offensively, but a nine-point run by the Spires kept them in it. Saint Mary once again threatened the Builder's lead right before halftime after threes from Mackey and Cam Southern made the score 43-40 in favor of Southwestern.

The Builders went on a 14-2 run to open the second half and extended their lead to nine over the Spires. Saint Mary could not keep up with the Southwestern offensive output as the lead continued to grow. Deshaud St. Martin made a layup and drew a foul to make it 73-62. Joe Burgos made a late three to make the final score 90-74. Southern led the Spires with 16 points on the night, while St. Martin had six rebounds.
