OTTAWA, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary men's basketball team continued its winning ways with their third straight win, a 77-73 decision over Ottawa University Monday night inside Wilson Fieldhouse.
Saint Mary is now 8-9 overall and 8-4 in the KCAC on the season.
GAME FLOW
It was a tight first half as neither team could break away for a big lead. Saint Mary led 16-11 at the 12:36 mark, and later increased their lead to 10 after Teyvon Lundy hit a three-pointer with 8:15 left in the half, giving the Spires a 23-13 lead. Ottawa would then score nine straight points and kept pace with Saint Mary as the Spires took a 37-35 halftime advantage.
The Spires would build a big lead in the second half at 53-40, but Ottawa climbed back into the game cutting the deficit to two at 62-60 with 8:23 remaining in the game. However, the Spires were able to shake the Braves and hang on for the four-point win. Ottawa had one final chance to tie the game on their final possession, but missed before Donovan Sinegal sank one-of-two free throws to help seal the win.

- Saint Mary shot 50.0 percent from the three-point line on 13-of-26 shooting.
