LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary men's basketball team fell to Kansas Wesleyan University inside the Ryan Sports Center Saturday night, 70-60. Down early in the game, the Spires cut the deficit to as little as eight at one point, but the Coyotes used strong shooting to come out with the win.
Saint Mary is now 9-14 overall and 9-9 in the KCAC.
Hot shooting by the Coyotes denied any big runs by the Spires, as the Coyotes shot 49.2 percent from the field. University of Saint Mary's Raylon Howard had a great game as he scored 21 points and had seven rebounds, along with five steals. Cameron Southern and DeMonte Sims both had eight points and each had one rebound. Six other players were able to put up points for the Spires, but the hot shooting by Kansas Wesleyan halted any comeback.
