Saint Mary Women's Basketball Wins Eighth Straight

Saint Mary women's basketball earned their eighth straight win as they cruised to an 82-54 win over York in the Ryan Sports Center on Saturday. The Spires are now 12-6 in KCAC play, tied with Ottawa for third place in the KCAC Standings. Saint Mary is 14-11 on the season.

The Spires took control in the first quarter as they scored 28 points and took an 11 point lead. By halftime, Saint Mary led by 15 points and they continued to pad the lead as they outscored York by 14 poins in the third quarter.

Saint Mary held York to just 27% shooting from the field in the win. The win caps off a four game week in which the Spires finished 4-0. The eight game winning streak is the longest in the tenure of Head Coach Bruce Erickson.

Candy De Los Reyes had a team high 17 points and seven rebounds. Imani White finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Kelsey Switzer had a team high five assists. 15 different Spires scored a point in the win.

Saint Mary will be back in action on Thursday at 6pm at McPherson. The Spires topped McPherson 101-74 at home earlier this season.
