Saint Mary Women Pick Up 10th Straight Win

The Saint Mary women's basketball earned their 10th straight win with an 82-74 win in overtime at home over (RV) Ottawa on Saturday. The Spires are now 16-11 on the season and 14-6 in KCAC play.

It was the second overtime win of the week for the Spires. The win avenged a 93-82 loss at Ottawa earlier this season. The Spires jumped out to a 12 point lead after the first quarter, but Ottawa would trim the deficit to six by halfitme. By the end of the third quarter, the game was tied.

The Spires trailed by two points late in the game, but Candy De Los Reyes forced overtime with a bucket with 52 seconds left on the clock. Saint Mary took control in overtime as they pushed out to a 10 point lead before claiming the 82-74 victory.

Imani White had a team high 28 points and 18 rebounds. White also blocked three shots and had two steals. De Los Reyes added 20 points and five rebounds for the Spires. Cassidy Harbert scored a season high 17 points. Kelsey Switzer finished with 13 points.

Saint Mary will take on Southwestern on Thursday at 6pm in Winfield. The Spires will be looking for their 11th straight victory. Saint Mary topped Southwestern at home earlier this season 76-62.
