The Saint Mary women's basketball team took a 76-60 exhibition loss at Missouri Western State on Wednesday night. It was the second game in two days for the Spires who bested McPherson 101-74 the night before.
Missouri Western jumped out to an early lead and held a 22-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Spires continued to trail through the end of the third quarter, but dove into the deficit with a 20-5 run in the final period.
Candy De Los Reyes led the Spires offensively with 17 points. She also had a team high five rebounds. Kelsey Switzer added 16 points and four rebounds. Paige Scheckel scored seven points in just 14 minutes played. Saint Mary shot 44% from the field and made 20 of their 25 free throws in the game.
The Spires now have 21 days off before they resume KCAC play with a road game at Ottawa on January 5th. Tip off is scheduled for 6pm.
