The University of Saint Mary Volleyball team competed in the LaQuinta Invitational this past weekend.

The Spires went 1-3 at the tourney, beating St. Gregory's University.

Peyton Pender powered the Spire attack, leading the team with 13 kills. Shannon Anderson added 12 kills of her own. Danielle Dowdy continued her success piling up 31 assists for the Spires and being named to the all-tournament team. Defensively for the Spires, Allie Massanet accumulated 17 digs and Annie Beck added 11.

Monday the Spires took on Avila University and earned their sixth win of the season, putting their overall record at 6-9.

Wednesday the Spires take on Bethany College at home in the Ryan Sports Center. The game will begin at 7 p.m. This weekend they will have yet another home match, this time against Bethel College at 2 p.m.
