Riley Ballou-Lyngstad serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Game Day Operations and Broadcasting for the Spires, where he oversees the full scope of athletic event execution. In this role, he manages all aspects of game day operations, including staffing, ticketing, concessions, fan engagement, and overall event presentation. He also leads the university’s athletic live streaming and broadcasting efforts, coordinating production teams, and enhancing the in-game experience through elements such as public address and advanced lighting systems.

A key component of his role is developing and mentoring students interested in sports media and event operations. He actively recruits and leads a team of students, providing hands-on experience in broadcasting, production, and game day execution. Through this work, he helps connect students with scholarship opportunities while preparing them for careers in sports management, communications, and related fields.

Prior to returning to the University of Saint Mary, Ballou-Lyngstad served as the Director of Athletic Events and Facilities at William Jewell College, where he oversaw athletic event logistics and facility operations. He also brings valuable municipal event experience from his time as an Event Specialist with the City of Shawnee, Kansas, where he played a key role in planning and executing large-scale community events.

Earlier in his career, Ballou-Lyngstad spent three years as the Sports Information Director at Tabor College, leading athletic communications and media relations efforts. He also previously served in an administrative role at the University of Saint Mary from 2023-2025, making his return to the institution a continuation of his commitment to its athletic programs and student development.

Ballou-Lyngstad holds a Master of Business Administration (2022) and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Physical Education from Tabor College.
