Spires Shine at NAIA Indoor Track & Field Nationals, Bring Home Two National Titles

GAINESVILLE, FL. - The University of Saint Mary indoor track and field teams traveled to Gainesville, Florida, this past weekend to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. The Spires made a strong statement on the national stage, bringing home two individual national titles and earning six All-American honors between the men's and women's teams.

Women's Results: Carly Holadia headlined the women's performances by securing a national championship in the 1000 Meter Run, crossing the finish line in an impressive 2:53.30 to claim the top spot.

Riley Hiebert also had a stellar performance, placing 5th in the Mile with a time of 4:52.83, securing All-American honors.

Josie Tyrrell rounded out the women's All-American efforts, finishing 8th in the 5000 Meter Run with a time of 17:17.35.

With these strong finishes, the Spires women's team placed 19th overall in the national standings.

Men's Results: The men's team saw standout performances as well, highlighted by Liam Neidig, who captured a national title in the 1000 Meter Run with a winning time of 2:25.63. Teammate Luis Perez was right behind him, taking 3rd place in the 1000 Meter Run with a time of 2:26.12, adding to the Spires' All-American count.

Tommy Baker delivered another podium finish for the Spires, securing runner-up in the 3000 Meter Run with a blazing time of 8:17.66, earning All-American honors.

With these performances, the men's team finished 8th overall at the national meet, marking a strong showing at the highest level of NAIA competition.

The Spires' success in Gainesville showcases the strength and depth of the program, as they continue to make their mark on the national stage. Congratulations to all the athletes who competed and represented Saint Mary with excellence!
