TOPEKA, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary's track and field team delivered stellar performances at the 2025 Washburn Open and the Fred Beile Invitational. The team's success was marked by several record-breaking marks and high national rankings.
Women's Team Highlights
The women's team had a remarkable showing, with the Distance Medley Relay team earning a podium finish. Comprising Carly Holadia, Gretchen Raney, Carlie Gregg, and Riley Hiebert, the team secured 3rd place with a time of 12:04.24. This outstanding performance not only set a new school record but also met the NAIA A standard, placing them at the top of the KCAC and #2 in the NAIA rankings.
Riley Hiebert continued to impress in the 1 Mile run, finishing in 9th place with a time of 4:58.70. Her effort not only broke the school record but also met the NAIA A standard, making her the #1 ranked runner in the KCAC and #5 in the NAIA.
In the 800 Meter Run, Carly Holadia achieved a time of 2:16.54, securing 12th place. Her performance met the NAIA B standard and set a new school record, earning her the #1 spot in the KCAC and #9 in the NAIA rankings.
Men's Team Highlights
The men's Distance Medley Relay team also demonstrated their prowess, finishing in 4th place with a time of 10:07.56. The team, consisting of Luis Perez, Karlos Humphreys, Jonah Godina, and Liam Neidig, met the NAIA B standard and topped the KCAC rankings, while also securing the #5 spot in the NAIA.
