Salina, Kan.--The Spires faced off against the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes in an absolute nail biter of a quarterfinal match of the KCAC Women's Soccer Championship on Wednesday, November 5th held at JRI Stadium in Salina, Kansas. Despite a valiant effort down to the final minute, the match ended in heartbreak for the Spires as they were defeated in a tense penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time, ending USM's season.
Throughout the evening, both teams showcased strong defensive strategies, leading to a 0-0 score at halftime, which persisted through the second half and overtime. The Spires' goalkeeper
