LEAVENWORTH, KAN. – The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Morningside College Saturday afternoon at Berkel Memorial Stadium.

The Spires are now 2-2 on the season.

Morningside College got on the board moments into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Spires were able to hold them scoreless throughout the remainder of the half, but were unable to get on the board.

The Mustangs would secure the win after a shot was made with just over two minutes left in the game, to go up 2-0.

Morningside led the game with 19 total shots. Saint Mary had six saves in goal, led by four from Lauryn Airy.

The Spires upcoming game on Wednesday has been cancelled. The team returns to action Sept. 24 where they will open conference play against Bethel College at Berkel Memorial Stadium. The game is set to begin at 5 p.m.
