LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team faced Park University Saturday afternoon at Berkel Memorial Stadium, falling by a narrow score of 1-0.
Saint Mary is 0-3 overall on the year.
GAME FLOW
It was a tight first half with neither team able to find the net. Up until the final two minutes of the first period, Park was able to score as Lenvix Ochieng scored from 10 yards out. Early in the second half, the Spires had two chances to tie the match. At the 43:11 mark Megan McMillen took a shot, but the ball went wide. Then with 34:06 left, Molly Devine took a shot from the right side and the ball went just over the cross bar.
Park's defense held tight the rest of the way as Saint Mary tried to tie the match. Justine Brown-DaCosta took a shot at the 17:18 mark, but it was saved by the Pirates' goalkeeper Alyssa Gregory.
