SIOUX CITY, Iowa. – Goalkeeper Emilie Korenek made a career-high 10 saves, but the University of Saint Mary women's soccer team fell behind to Morningside College, 2-0 Saturday afternoon.
Saint Mary is now 0-5 overall on the year.
GAME FLOW
The Mustangs scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute, which came from Merle Bublitz. The Spires defense then held the Mustangs in check throughout the first half, trailing just 1-0 at halftime.
Saint Mary took nine total shots in the first half compared to 10 for Morningside.
The Mustangs would add their second goal of the game in the 51st minute – to take a 2-0 lead. The Spires tried to chip away at the lead, but shot opportunities were minimal in the second half.
