The KCAC last week announced the conference's annual "Champions of Character" honorees. The winners are student-athletes who best exemplify the core values of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' (NAIA) Champions of Character Program.
Earning the Champions of Character nod from the Lady Spires Volleyball Team: libero Amelia Noll.
USM Volleyball Coach Conan Salanoa said "Amelia has overcome so much over the past few months. And to achieve the amount of success she's had is special. She works so hard on and off the court and demonstrates all the core values of the champion of character that she was an easy choice for the award this year."
Two Saint Mary volleyballers also earned all-conference honors this season.
Noll, a junior libero from Nortonville, Kan., was named KCAC Libero of the Year, as well as earned a First Team All-Conference selection. Noll led the conference in digs, averaging just under eight per set.
Megan Puhr, a junior outside hitter from Tonganoxie, Kan., was named to the conference's Honorable Mention team.
"These awards are indicative of what the future holds for the USM Volleyball program," said Head Coach Salanoa.
Congratulations to the team on a great season!
