Derek Mazeitis, a native of Leavenworth, became the head coach of the
University of Saint Mary soccer program in 2005. Mazeitis received
his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Truman State University
(Kirksville, Mo.) in 1996. While at Truman, Mazeitis earned MIAA All
Conference honors as a goalkeeper his junior and senior seasons and was
twice selected as the MIAA player of the week. Mazeitis posted a .94
goals against average in 1995, while helping the Bulldogs advance to
the NCAA Division II quarterfinals.
Prior to his collegiate career, Mazeitis played locally at Immaculata
High School in Leavenworth, Kan., leading the Raiders to a career
62-15-4 record.
Mazeitis comes to USM from Platte County High School in Platte
City, Mo., where he started the boys and girls high school programs
in 1998 compiling a combined 154-110-18 record over seven years.
In his time at Platte County, Mazeitis' teams won a combined
four conference titles, four district titles, and reached the
state quarterfinals.
Coach Mazeitis enters his fourth year as the leader of the USM Soccer programs. During his tenure at the University of Saint Mary, Coach Mazeitis has seen his teams earn a berth into regional play. The Spires have also received all conference recognition and all region recognition for several players. Under Mazeitis, the Spires women's program has been recognized as an NAIA scholar team for consecutive years while garnering several academic all americans.
Coach Mazeitis enjoys spending his time with his wife Dana and their
two sons, Aidan and Cooper.

Justin Seever

Justin Seever was a two-time All-Huron League goalkeeper in his hometown of Atchison, KS before graduating in 2003. From there he started his collegiate career at Neosho County CC, helping anchor the team from 1 win his freshman season to a then school record 12 wins the following year. The season culminated with a regional quarter final victory and a 2-1 semi-final loss to eventual 4th in the nation Johnson County CC. From there Coach Seever continued his playing career at the University of Saint Mary, graduating in 2008 with his degree in Sports Management.
