Visiting Teams

Dear Visiting Athletic Trainer and/or Coach,

Welcome to the University of Saint Mary!

On behalf of the University of Saint Mary Athletic Training Department, I would like to welcome you and your team. We will be more than happy to assist you during your time here on our campus.

Our campus has two Athletic Training Room locations for your convenience.  Our main Athletic Training Room is located at the northwest corner of our campus in McGilley Field House on the first floor.  This is primarily used for our soccer, football, and softball teams as the playing fields are located in close proximity, our offices are also located here.

Our satellite Athletic Training Room is located in Ryan Sports Center just across the parking lot south of McGilley Field House.  This Athletic Training Room is adjacent to the basketball and volleyball courts and is used for those athletic events.  Due to the location of our baseball field, the Athletic Training Room in Ryan Sports Center is the closest room to the field, but for any pre-competition treatments, it is suggested to use McGilley Field House for its resources. If you have equipment or gear that needs to be transported let us know by email or phone so you can be assisted with it on game day.

On game days you will be provided with the following amenities:

  • The Athletic Training Room will be open one to two hours prior to competition depending on the warm up times of each sport.
  • Water, cups, ice chest with ice for injuries, and ice bags.
  • Full access to our Athletic Training facilities and the use of our modalities including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, hot and cold whirlpools, hot packs, and taping tables.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer(s) will be available at each event.
  • Emergency equipment and personnel on call for athletic events.

If no student or Certified Athletic Trainer will be traveling with the team, and any athletes will need taping, please send them with any necessary taping materials. If any of your athletes will need modality use please contact us before they arrive or provide a written note from Team physician or certified athletic trainer.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or any special requests.  Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., after 3 p.m. feel free to leave a message that will be returned as early as possible, or e-mail any time.
