Coach Morgan Parris, a former cheerleader herself, has taken the reins of USM’s recently revived Cheerleading program.
Parris is currently an Admissions Counselor at the University of Saint Mary, and recently served as Game and Competition Choreographer and Student Assistant Coach of the cheer team at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. During her time at Benedictine, she choreographed the Heart of America Athletic Conference Competitions for All-Girl, Co-Ed and Mascot efforts.
Parris has also choreographed for Maur-Hill Mount Academy in Atchison, Pius X High School in Kansas City, and Platte City’s Pop Warner Cheerleading Team.
She was a St. Mary High School cheerleader from 2000 through 2004, during which time she took 2nd Place at the Regional Missouri Cheer Championship and qualified for the Missouri High School Cheer Championship. And she was on the competition squad of the Kansas City All Stars.
Parris is a 2008 graduate of Benedictine. She lives in Leavenworth with her husband, Luke, and three dogs, Elle, Ace, and Koozer. She is a native of Blue Springs, Mo.
