Saint Mary men's soccer dropped a heart breaker at York on Wednesday. The first KCAC win continued to evade the Spires as they fell 2-1 in overtime. Saint Mary is now 4-8 on the season and 0-5 in KCAC play.

The Spires would strike first. In the 21st minute of the match, Branden Sanchez assisted a Francisco Sanchez goal to give Saint Mary the early 1-0 lead. York evened the score with a goal of their own in the 27th minute and the score would be 1-1 at halftime.

In the second half, neither team would score. York would outshoot the Spires 11-6 in the first half and 8-3 in the second, but solid play in goal from Enrique Gonzales kept Saint Mary in the game. Gonzales finished with nine saves in the match.
