The Saint Mary men's soccer team continued the tough start to their KCAC schedule as they faced off against Ottawa on Saturday for Homecoming at Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium. The Spires played their fourth KCAC game, all four opponents are ranked in the top six of the KCAC Standings.

Saint Mary again held tough through the first half of play. Ottawa opened the scoring with a goal in the 15th minute, but that would be all the scoring for the first half. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, the Spires could not get any momentum going. The Spires would get off three shots each half, but could not find the back of the net. Ottawa would add three second half goals to take the game 4-0.

The Spires held Ottawa to just four shots in the first half, but the Braves would get off 10 shots in the second half in the win.

The loss drops the Spires to 4-7 on the season and 0-4 in KCAC play. Saint Mary will resume play on Wednesday at 3:30 pm when they travel to take on York. York is 3-6-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in KCAC play.
