The Saint Mary men's soccer team took a 2-1 loss to Park on Saturday at Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium. The Spires are now 1-2 on the season.

Saint Mary and Park played to a 0-0 draw in the first 45 minutes of the match. Enrique Gonzales provided quality minutes in goal. He finished with three saves, but Park would net two goals in the second half to claim the win.

The Pirates went out to a 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute, but the Spires continued to force the action. The Spires played a corner kick short then worked the ball to the center and got off a shot that deflected off a Park defender. Jay Willcutt played the deflection and sent home the game tying goal with just 8:54 remaining in the game.

The Spires would be denied the match.  Just under five minutes after tying the game, Park netted their second goal in the 86th minute. The Spires would fall 2-1.

Saint Mary is back in action on Tuesday when they host Manhattan Christian at 7pm.
