The Saint Mary women's soccer team took their first loss of the 2017 season on Saturday. The Spires fell 4-0 to Park. Saint Mary is now 2-0-1 on the season.

Park would take control of the match early on with a goal in the ninth minute. Sara Ruiz-Payan played all 90 minutes in goal. She made five saves. The Spires only trailed 2-0 at halftime. The Spires were unable to find the magic that allowed them to erase a two goal deficit the week prior in the final 19 minutes of the game.

Park added two more goals in the second half and took the victory. Justine Brown led the Spires in shots with three. She put two shots on goal. Erica Hornbuckle also put a shot on goal.

The Spires resume play on Tuesday when they host Central Methodist at 5pm in Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium.
