The Saint Mary baseball team was swept in a non-conference double header at Park on Tuesday.

In game one, four runs for Park in the first two innings cost the Spires. Alex Knight settled in on the mound after the first two innings and tossed a complete game allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out six and walking three. The Saint Mary bats were silent as they managed just three hits in the game. Jordan Wilkerson had a double and an RBI to pace to offense.

Saint Mary scored a run in the top of the first inning in the second game to take an early lead, but Park would score three in the bottom of the inning. The teams traded runs, and the the Spires trailed just 7-6 headed into the bottom of the sixth. Park would add another run before the Spires got two base runners on in the top of the seventh but Adam Stebbins would ground out to end the game.

Shun Tsunoda and Wilkerson each homered and went four for four at the plate for Saint Mary. Wilkerson had a double as well to go with four RBI. Tsunoda stole two bases. Mel Robles doubled and tripled. Easton Barnes started on the mound and alowed four runs on six hits while striking out one in one and two thirds innings pitched. Four other Spires pitched in relief.

Saint Mary will resume play on Saturday when they host Kansas Wesleyan in a double header at 1pm. The final game of the series will be Sunday at 1pm.
