The Saint Mary women's lacrosse team earned a 20-7 win over Johnson and Wales in their final KCAC game of the season on Saturday. The Spires are now 4-8 on the season.
An 11-5 advantage in the first half set the tone for Saint Mary. The Spires then outscored Johnson and Wales 9-2 in the second half en route to the 13 point victory. The Spires scored the first three goals of the game and never looked back.
Karissa Proctor scored a season high nine goals and had one assist to pace the offense. Julia Harvey added five goals and two assists. Kristina Purinton and Hannah Byrd each scored two goals. Purinton had two assists as well.
Proctor led the team in ground balls with 12. Harvey finished with eight. Kayla DeBlois played the enitre game in goal and made seven saves in earning the win. The Spires forced 15 turnovers.
The final game of the regular season will be Tuesday at 5pm when the Spires host Rockhurst.
