The Saint Mary men's lacrossse team battled #4 Indiana Tech on Friday night in a game played at Missouri Baptist. The Spires fell 25-14 in a hard fought contest.

Indiana Tech jumped out to an early lead, but the Spires battled through the first quarter and trailed just 7-5. In the second quarter, Indiana Tech outscored the Spires 5-3, but Saint Mary would only trail by four at halftime. The Spires held their ground in the third quarter, but Indiana Tech pulled away with an 8-2 advantage in the fourth to take the victory.

Cory Wunderlich and Mackinley Morgan each scored five goals. Morgan also had an assist. Four other Spires scored goals in the loss as well. Brandon Newman had a team high six ground balls. Zander Smith and Sean Maguire split halves in goal. Smith made four saves and Maguire made five.

Saint Mary finishes regular season play on Tuesday in a match at Ottawa begnning at 7pm. The Spires will then compete in the KCAC Lacrosse Championships beginning on Thursday at Saint Mary.
