The Saint Mary baseball team dropped three gmes at (RV) Friends this weekend. The Spires are now 7-11 in KCAC play and three games back of McPherson for the sixth place spot in the KCAC Standings.

In game one, Mike Amado pitched five and two thirds innings allowing six runs on 12 hits. Easton Barnes pitched two and a third innings in relief. Andrew Berry, Shun Tsunoda, Guillermo Loera, and Jordan Wilkerson each had two hits. Berry hit his fifth home run of the season. Chase Kearney had two RBI. Friends jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Saint Mary tied the game in the second inning. Friends addedd a run in the third and three more in the fourth and the Spires would fall 6-4.

Zach Novis started game two. With the game tied 2-2 headed into the fourth, Friends scored seven runs over the next two innings. Defensive miscues would cost the Spires. After two runs in the first, Saint Mary would not score again in the game. Jeremy Melvin, Juan Gallardo, and Kearney each had two hits. Gallardo had two RBI. The Spires hit five doubles in the game but could not cash in as they fell 11-2.

The final game of the series saw Ryan Benson hold the Falcons to one run over the first five innings of play, but the Falcons scored three times in the sixth and won 4-1. The Saint Mary offense was held silent as they managed just one run on six hits. Adam Stebbins paced the bats with two hits.

Saint Mary will take on Park in a double header on Tuesday at 1pm in Parkville.
