The Saint Mary men's lacrosse team earned a hard fought 10-9 victory over Benedictine at home on Tuesday. The win makes the Spires 3-1 in KCAC play, one game back of first place Missouri Valley. Saint Mary is 6-6 overall.

After an early Benedictine goal, Saint Mary tied the game at the 7:21 mark of the first quarter. Benedictine added another goal, but that would round out the scoring in the first quarter. The Spires scored three consecutive goals in the second and outscored the Ravens 5-3 in the quarter to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.

Two Benedictine goals to begin the third quarter gave the Ravens the lead once again, but the Spires would score twice in the final three minutes of the period to lead by one headed into the final quarter. Benedictine tied the game with just under nine minutes left to play. The Spires took the lead back less than two minutes later, but Benedictine tied the game again with a goal at the 2:28 mark.
