Cheer and Dance - Mon, Feb. 6, 2017

The Saint Mary cheer and dance teams participated in their first compeitions of the year this weekend at the Thresher Invitational hosted by Bethel College. Six different schools were invited to participate in the event.

Five teams competed in the cheer division: Tabor, Sterling, Kansas Wesleyan, Saint Mary, and Bethel. The Spires finished fifth in the cheer division. In the dance division were Saint Mary, Oklahoma City, and Kansas Wesleyan. The Spires would take home second in the dance division.

Head Coach Morgan Conrad was encouraged by her teams performance, "I'm super proud of both of the teams. The first competition is always the toughest, because it's getting the nerves out and working the routine full out on the floor. We have a lot of improvements to make for conference and regionals, but I am very happy with their performances."

The cheer and dance teams will compete next on Monday, February 6 at 4pm at Benedictine College. The KCAC Conference Invitational is on Friday, February 10th hosted by Kansas Wesleyan.
